This patient is interesting because none of her pathology is consistent with endometriosis, but she suffered from endometriosis scar tissue pain. It is, however, consistent with the ramifications and sequelae of endometriosis. The sequelae is represented by the fibrous scar around the bowel, ovary, and ureter. A full excision of these adhesions was performed and the organs were left freely mobile. As a result, the patient’s pain improved significantly.
Her case highlights the difficult in endometriosis. There are still ramifications that need to be addressed. The longer that endometriosis is reactive, the more sequelae a patient can get. This leads to our passion to identify it early and treatment with excision before the sequelae can occur.
