When are we moving?

Our goal is to be fully integrated at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital by Monday, March 6. We will communicate frequently to provide you with the most pertinent information. All patients presenting to the hospital for labor/delivery or for emergency care should go to Trinity Health Oakland Hospital as of Monday, March 6th.

Who will be my provider for labor and delivery?

Our entire hospital team of physicians and midwives will be moving to Trinity Health Oakland. We will continue to have 24/7 in-hospital coverage with a Women's Excellence provider.

What does the labor and delivery unit look like?

Where is Trinity Health Oakland located?

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is located in downtown Pontiac at 44405 Woodward Ave, Pontiac, MI 48341. The hospital campus resides at the former St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.

At Women’s Excellence, maternity care is one of our foundations, and we continually review our program to ensure that we are providing the most advanced, comprehensive, and efficient care to our patients.  In the past 10 years, we have become a monumental resource for women in our community due to the growth of our midwifery department, collaborative approach between physicians and midwives, dedication to low c-section rates, and outstanding patient care despite the challenges brought on from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Keeping our values and mission at the forefront of our decision-making process, we are pleased to announce that we will be moving our labor and delivery services from Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak to Trinity Health Oakland Hospital (formerly St. Joseph Mercy Oakland).

This decision comes with an entire year of research and planning to determine which hospital in our community would be the right fit for our patients and our Team, provide the greatest access to care, and has a strong administration that is favorable to growth and our mission of providing a natural birth environment with low c-section rates for women.

Now that we have chosen to move forward with the transition to Trinity Health Oakland Hospital, we are now aligned with a team that has goals of creating an entirely new, state-of-the-art labor and delivery unit with a natural birthing center. But that’s not all…

Trinity Health is also expanding their pediatric services to allow for our families to have better pediatric care close to home and in a hospital where they are familiar. C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital pediatric specialty care will now be made available to all of our patients at Trinity Health! We are proud to soon be a part of a health system that continually aims to improve and elevate the standard of care, which has always been an essential component of our mission at Women’s Excellence.
