Controlled Substances - Legislative Policy Clarification | Womens Excellence News Release

At Women’s Excellence, we strive to provide you excellent care.  We use safe and effective medications and protocols in all of our treatment plans.  Unfortunately, some medications are scrutinized because of their classification within the controlled substance designation. It is our priority to ensure patient safety and adhere to legislative policies with controlled substances.

We want to ensure that you will not be affected by the new law, as we have always used good clinical judgement and foundational protocols in our treatment.  Due to federal and state law, effective June 1, 2018, all controlled substances, including Adipex for weight loss, will require a MAPS Report (Prescription Monitoring Program) to be fulfilled for every patient at the time of new and refilled prescriptions and a Urine Toxicology Screen at each visit in order to comply with the medication monitoring standard.

We apologize for any inconvenience that the new law has created, but wish to continue to provide you excellent service.
