Reasons to see gynecologists | Abnormal periods | ObGyn MI

Usually, if you believe you are pregnant, suffering from an STD/STI, or in need of your annual exam, you understand these are reasons to see your gynecologist.  But, did you know that your gynecologist is available to you for many other things?  The providers at Women’s Excellence have the necessary advanced training to help with a multitude of issues that women face.  Below are some of the most unexpected things that WE can help you with!

Urinary and Bladder Control Problems

Urinary frequency, urgency, and the involuntary loss of urine is not normal.  Although a weakened bladder is typically a normal part of the aging process, women have bladder control options other than disposable underwear, pads, and other lifestyle changes when dealing with their bladder control issues.  The most common bladder issues are stress incontinence and overactive bladder (OAB).

Stress incontinence is when you leak while putting stress on the bladder, like when you cough, sneeze, or lift something heavy.

Overactive bladder is the sudden urge to urinate.

If you are experiencing urine leakage, schedule an appointment with your provider today.  Women’s Excellence offers a variety of treatment options including medicinal therapy, pelvic physical therapy, Botox injections, Axonics therapy (sacral neuromodulation), and minimally invasive procedures to relieve your symptoms.
